FUNDRAISING EVENTS
As a non-profit making organisation Act 1 does not receive any funding and relies solely on ticket sales and internal fundraising. The committee work tirelessly every year to host a wide variety of fundraising events and opportunities for our members and the public to get involved with. Over the years the group have managed to raise thousands of pounds, all of which gets fed straight back into the theatre company and/or current productions.
QUIZ EVENINGS
We love a good quiz night! Over the years we've covered many themes including our annual Christmas/Winter quiz, Name that Tune, Music/TV & Film to name a few.
Lockdown didn't stop us either! Ben and Helen took on the role of Quiz Master between them for some great weekly quizzes!
SPONSORED EVENTS
Sponsored events are always good fun! We've completed sponsored walks that took a lot longer than anticipated, danceathons that left legs feeling like jelly and even 7 hour silences that always prove to be both challenging and hilarious!
CUPCAKES
& SWEETS
During most of our show runs we like to sell goodies as a way of earning a few extra pounds! The committee would often provide homemade cupcakes, or we make up bags of pick'n'mix sweets for all those sweet-tooth's in the audience!
BINGO
NIGHTS
Our prize bingo is always popular among our members. We make sure there are prizes and games to entertain all the family. With Higher or Lower, Backwards Bingo and Hoy the nights are always full of fun and numbers!
AUCTION OF PROMISES
With a bunch of donated items & services, members silently bid for each auction! Not only were people happy with their winnings, but we also managed to raise lots of extra funds.
SWEEPSTAKES, RAFFLES & BONUS BALLS
Over the years we've made the most of new Act 1 babies being born by holding the odd baby sweepstake! Well, why not! Our members also love taking part in our weekly bonus balls, and seasonal raffles.
DANCE WORKSHOPS
Over the years, some of our best choreographers have hosted a number of workshops for our members and their family & friends. We've covered a wide range of dance styles including musical theatre, tap, ballet & contemporary.
